Around The Corner Saloon Cafe

I was interested in trying this restaurant because I enjoy exploring new places, but I came across a concerning review. I'd like to get an update from the company: is it true that your staff allows theft from customers and then responds poorly when customers attempt to address the issue?

Warning to anyone considering a visit to this place on a Friday night with friends: be wary of those around you. A close friend of mine was roofied at Around the Corner last night and had to be taken to the hospital after someone spiked her drink while we were in the karaoke room. While Around the Corner can be a fun and enjoyable place if you stay alert, this experience shows that the same could happen to you if you choose to visit this venue for drinks. The atmosphere later in the evening is loud, crowded, and uncomfortable, often filled with unaccompanied men, and there seems to be a lack of oversight from staff members. Around the Corner is great during the day, but it’s not a safe environment for customers at night. I no longer trust this location in Lakewood, and you should exercise caution as well. Never take your eyes off your drinks, and remember that the single men who frequent this establishment may not have your best interests at heart.

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. I visited a good friend in the area for the weekend after a long time, and I had a terrible experience. Upon arrival, the staff accused us of having fake IDs and threatened to take our cards. It wasn’t until someone called the police that they "graciously" returned our IDs. We faced harassment from multiple security guards while trying to retrieve them. The whole situation was handled in a completely unprofessional and rude manner. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Me and two of my friends went here from michigan got denied for having “fake” ids. Horrible service and bouncers. As soon as we called the cops they willingly gave us back our ids, as a “favor”. The entire staff was rude to us and unprofessional.

Nice outdoor seating in the back. Can be a little loud. Kitchen open until 11pm which is later than most in the area. Received lovely service from Alyssa.
