El Torito Taqueria Y Mas - Lakewood

I stopped by here and tried their vegan burrito. Their vegan green chili and cheese was amazing! Give them a try!

El Torito offers a limited but impressive selection of vegan and vegetarian options that surpass most other Mexican restaurants. We sampled the veggie enchiladas, vegan garden burrito, and a kids quesadilla with vegan cheese. It was a pleasant surprise to find whole beans available as a side dish instead of just refried beans. The red and green vegan sauces added a nice touch to the dishes. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, and we didn't leave feeling too stuffed. Plus, the meal was served quickly.

I couldn't give it 5 stars, but the staff is friendly, and they offer a variety of 4-5 options that go beyond just salads or plain bean burritos. We tried the vegan chimichanga and enchilada plates, and they were delicious!

The food at this restaurant was delicious and the service was fantastic. The staff were attentive and friendly. However, my daughter and I were disappointed with our order of street tacos and Vegan Burrito. The street taco with breaded tofu only had one piece of Gardein breaded chicken, which did not even cover the whole taco. Additionally, the Vegan Burrito was supposed to come with cheese, so I asked for vegan cheese for an extra $2. However, only one slice of plain Caio cheese was placed on top of the burrito, with no cheese inside. I was looking forward to trying the vegan options at a Mexican restaurant, but unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the execution. I will not be returning.

I ordered through Chow Now. I got there when my order was suppose to be ready and they said they missed it which is fine. Then I ordered a horchata while I waited and asked for a small and she gave me a huge one for $5. The horchata was way too sugary. When I got my burrito it was the size of a taco and cost $8. Burrito was gross. Potatoes not cooked thorough and oily. Won’t be coming here again.
