Sunrise Cafe - Lakewood

My wife ordered the eggs benedict, which was decent, although the English muffin was a bit burned on the bottom. We're not sure if that was intentional, but it wasn’t to our liking. Nonetheless, we might consider giving it another try on a future visit. However, we absolutely loved the side potatoes—those were fantastic! They were soft and nicely compact, with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside. I opted for the banana pancakes, and here's a tip: I added a side of peanut butter, which made for a delicious combination! The banana pancakes are one of their signature dishes, and the flavors blend beautifully. I highly recommend trying them out!

Very classic, home-style food. Parking isn't very good, not many spots but if you can move past that it's definitely a very nice place to have breakfast. Food is going to be food, I ordered the hungry man meal with waffles, sausage and instead of home fries an English muffin. Yes all of the food was good, you mainly focusing on the waffle which was crispy outside and soft inside, tasted very homemade so yes this place had some very good waffles but if you are messing up waffles and eggs, something ain't right. I made this comment because the service was phenomenal. Once I got my server, I was checked on at least 4 times which made me feel comfortable and paid attention to. Once I paid the owner/manager someone came up to me and asked how I liked the service, if I enjoyed my meal and how did I hear about the place. Something very comforting about knowing people care about their business. I would definitely recommend.

Delicious food with generous portion sizes. Make sure to arrive hungry, as you'll definitely leave satisfied. The service was a bit slow, but overall, it was a positive experience.

A gem of a diner. lots of character and charm and very much a family operation. there’s an emphasis on hospitality where it felt like everyone who works there has time to say hello. our breakfast was delicious: one order of chilaquiles, one order of belgian waffles, and a bottomless cup of coffee. perfect.

Probably the best breakfast I have had in a VERY long time! Great quality and tasting food and reasonably priced. Short walk from airport hotels. Well worth the walk.
