We arrived at 11 a.m. without one, only to find out they were fully booked until 1 p.m. We made a reservation for the next day and returned at 11 a.m. as they operate on a first-come-first-serve basis. The seats offered a beautiful view of Hulopoe Bay and sturdy rocks. We ordered the beet poke, a grain salad with dressing on the side, and vegan tacos. The food took some time to come out, but the view kept us entertained. They also provided bread sticks, which were just okay. The beets in the poke were delicious, but the seaweed salad underneath was bland. The dressing on the grain bowl lacked flavor, tasting more like a plain oil. The vegan tacos were the standout, with a tasty side sauce. We enjoyed the grain salad as well. For dessert, we tried the passion fruit sorbet and coconut sorbet, but the latter tasted like vanilla ice cream instead. It would be helpful if they were more cautious about potential allergens in their desserts. Overall, I may return but would likely skip dessert next time.
There are not many vegetarian options available at Lanai, but we enjoyed a great lunch at Views. The whole grain salad included fruit, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, and was a generous portion. The Mediterranean shell was packed with plant protein. It appears that the tacos and tortilla salad could be vegan-friendly.
Don't forget to make a reservation! We arrived at 11 o'clock when the restaurant opened without one, but they were fully booked until 1 o'clock. We made a reservation for the following day and arrived at 11 o'clock for our reservation, as seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We had a lovely table with a view of Hulopoe Bay and the stunning rocks. We ordered the beet pepper, beet salad with dressing on the side, and vegan tacos. The food took a while to come out, but we were content with the view. They also served breadsticks, which were just okay. The beets themselves were delicious, but the salad they were served on was a bit too delicate for my taste. The maple vinaigrette dressing on the corn bowl was mild and tasted like neutral oil to me. The vegan tacos were the standout dish, with a flavorful sauce on the side. For dessert, we had passionfruit and coconut sorbet, but the coconut sorbet tasted more like vanilla ice cream, which was a bit disappointing. I wish they were more careful, as people with milk allergies could have issues if accidentally served a milk-based product instead of a non-dairy option. Overall, I might consider returning but would probably skip dessert next time.
Vegetarian options are limited to lanai, but we had a wonderful lunch in views. the whole chalkalate had fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds and was served as a generous part and the Mediterranean dish was filled with plant protein. looks like their tacos and tortillasalat could be vegan.
