Not the greatest dining experience. Food is just very generic, nothing exciting. The service was horrible, waitress kept bringing the wrong drinks over and over again after being told that they were incorrect. We also ordered a dessert and she only came back with the check. Never even acknowledged the fact that she forgot to add our dessert. Horrible entertainment as well during dinner. Not a huge fan
Very unique hotel! Victorian decor and furniture and music. Old time tavern inside. Beautiful dining area.
It's been over 10 years since ive been there. When you walk in, it is a friendly atmosphere, really like a steamboat. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is the room we stayed in. I understand it was probably one of the last ones because we booked 4 days before our stay. It was an older room on the second floor. The wallpaper was peeling, stains on the carpet, the microwave and fridge weren't that good. I would recommend staying here but book way ahead in advance if you want a good room. We didn't eat at Huckleberry's restaurant tho so I can't say anything about that.
We love this place. We have been coming several times a year for 6 years. This past Sunday was our 3rd time since April. Upon check in we immediately booked for November, the start of the Holiday trains. The room upgrades are very nice.However, this time was a little disappointing. Check in was a little dramatic and took forever. Never experienced this before. I believe the agent was new, and I’m all for learning but he checked his Apple Watch several times and was second guessing the manager that’s been there forever.The room was not the cleanest. There were stains on the bathroom door, hair in the bed, tub ledge and soap dish. The towel rack came off the wall. When we put fresh socks on my kids they were black within minutes. When I brought it up to the manager he apologized, said it was unacceptable and would look into it. When the Maintenance guy came to Rectify the issues, he asked should he clean the stain ? umm yea, please.When we saw room service in halls, they only had a broom and dust pan, no vacuum, no mop etc. floors should be mopped or at least wet swiffied every time.I also did not have the best sleep, woke up twice in the middle of the night bc I was hot, and bed was not the most comfortable. ac was auto at 69, did not kick on quick. I decided to read reviews and see they were mixed.I’m not the type of guy that complains and wants something in return. Being a loyal and repeat guest, I feel like they could’ve offered something. The manager did stop by the room to check in, which was nice. We will give it one more shot in November.Rooms: Usually niceNearby activities: Plenty for kidsFood drinks: Local area great
