However, the two filets that our table had ordered were not so great. they were chewing and so. “Greatness” a little hard to cut. for over $320 for 4 people we were quite disappointed. quite overpriced for a “meh” experience. not sure how soon we are again.
We were there for nye. on the way to our table I slipped and fell almost due to a trace of dripped water over the entire floor. I pointed it out to the wet and although it was on the point where I slipped on some other workers, the droplets that passed past our table remained until they dried on their own. the waitress was friendly enough, but tangible. the salads arrived quickly and the appetizer was released only a few moments later. I was only half finished with my salate when the escaped arrived. I know they want the tables to turn quickly into busy nights, but we were rushed with an insulting rate. When should we eat our appetizers? should I let my $55 steak go cold while I finished my salate? each decent server knows that customers will end a cursor before they bring the next! that's just healthy. they checked that the steaks were in order, then disappeared. the steaks were perfectly cooked, but the veg was something done and cold. in the meantime we noticed that others enjoy their drinks comfortably, but no wine card, cocktail menu, soft drink or even after dinner coffee was offered to us. we tried to get the attention of the waitress to order wein after our steaks have come, but without confusing. she came back only when the weeping who made us flag, made her know there was a problem. at this time we ate it. our half-natal salads and almost untouched calamari were still on the table. I was livid! She seemed really shocked and confused that we were upset. they removed the calamari from the bill on my perseverance, but we spent $140 for 2 steaks, cold veg, and 2 half portion salate. I expected a nice evening out, but it was a fucking experience through and the crying baby right behind us didn't help! the waitress was full of talk about how busy they were, but when we left around 19 o'clock, no one waited for space and at least one big empty table. And on the way out there there was a fresh trace of dripping water over the floor!
La papillon is a favorite in the opposite and one of very few I would recommend in the antelope valley. during this trip my wife and I had excellent service and delicious meals of bone-in-pork cups. as we expected. the bad surprise came with the weeping list. her weeping list was always good, not great, but this time we found that it had doubled in the price since our last visit. I understand that we experience in inflation times and that a restauranteur uses wine and drinks to achieve profits, but that changes the high point of a prominent and will certainly affect our future selection of a restaurant.
I have eaten many times here and my reviews for the greatest part were excellent. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I was surprised at the lack of quality. my spouse and I ordered both a NY steak and chose for pommes. the plate came with the steak and a few cracks fries, which saw as if they came out of a bag of a generic brand. unfortunately they tasted like that. at $41 I expected a little more culinary flair and taste.
Excellent service. Loved the Bruschetta and the Pesto Penne. Wish there were more vegetarian options. They also have an excellent hot pepper sauce.
