A personal favorite when I 'm in quebec. Three simple ingredients, fries, gravy, and cheese curds. They didnt speak english and it I was prepared. une poutine š 'il vous plaît. Horrible pronunciation and all. Embarrassing but I tried. Just get a simple poutine sit back and enjoy. The staff was friendly and appreciated my attempt. Quiet and enjoyable for getting your poutine fix.

What a great, great place. But they don 't speak English here!!! So put on your best French accent and say it loudly! I 've never had a poutine in my life. My friend and I ordered the large regular dulton to share, which is a typical poutine fries dressed in delicious gravy and loaded with cheese curds with this amazing curried ground beef. The beef was sweet and went so nicely with the saltiness of the dish. It was $10 between the two of us, but worth it since it filled us up nicely for lunch. Chez Ashton runs like a fast food chain, but they are so much more than that! If you are a visitor from the States or anywhere that doesn 't serve poutine, you must stop by an Ashton at least once to get your poutine fix! If you have any appreciation for nice greasy grub, you will not be disappointed.

In my opinion their standard hamburger is not much different in quality than a BK Whopper, yet the way people line up to order you'd think it's the only place in town to eat. What's their secret? Its the La Poutine. La Poutine is considered a classic Quebec dish. The basic version is french fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds. Chez Ashton has a few varieties of this, and while it's not cheap, it's a great place to taste Quebec's favorite comfort food. In short, come here for the Poutine and not the burger and you'll be satisfied. Service was friendly by the way except they have trouble understanding European French so they will likely try to help you in English unless you speak Quebecois.
