Occasionally step out on a weekend for some amazing bands - cover and original. There are also competitions, theme nights...etc. Who needs to go downtowN? The staff rock too btw. Excellent choice of drinks and the food is good :)
We had a great time last night at the pub. The staff was excellent and service was fast and super friendly! Our waitress Stephanie was awesome. She learned everyone's names in our group (20 of us) and kept all our orders perfect! Great band playing lots of different new and older music which was a blast to dance to....Thanks so much and we will definitely be back to party once again!
We had the best time here. So much fun with awesome food & cocktails. I'm a picky eater and I found lots of healthy and delicious options.
We decided on a family night out, thought maybe the 3 amigos mexican place may be the right place, but oh great, they were way to busy so this place was in sight and thought we would try it,big mistake, right off the bat, smells like spilled beer and pea.a few too many bar flies, and the food, wow what a very bad poor, over priced selection, our waitress was very polite and friendly but that was the only thing good there, over priced appetizers ,and the ribs my wife and I ordered were nothing but an over priced ,poorly cooked no meat joke, then add in the very foul mouth ,4 letter word bar flies drinking in there ,just topped off an already bad dinner,I suggest you pick another spot, but hey you decide, cheers
Happy to see Darcy's in Langford. Finally more coolness from the big city. But I was rather surprised... Atmosphere is nothing like the hip, happening downtown location. No jolly uni students, lively tourists or cool urbanite locals. This location is like a divey local watering hole in the suburbs, a blue collar hangout. Walked in early evening and it was very quiet with a few locals nursing their beers at the bar. The pub is quite a big open space but with a strange subdued vibe. It was more like a restaurant - didn't even feel like a sports bar, no darts or pool tables, just a few burly men in steel toe boots shooting the breeze with the bartender and a couple older ladies outside sucking back cigarettes. Not sure what music night is like but hopefully upbeat and entertaining. I heard it's mostly country music.. but what about karaoke night or stand up comedy or dart competition? Hopefully they showcase local talent or pull some popular acts from the city. Langford desperately needs a fun, cool hangout with a youthful vibe and Darcy's is a promising location. As the region grows and becomes more traffic locked and congested there's more of a disconnect to downtown so a cool neighbourhood pub is badly needed in West Shore. Owners just need to figure out how to inject some bright downtown energy into this second location. Not sure how to fix that - it's Langford, a rugged family town in the burbs after all. Drink menu is extensive and food is average and fairly expensive so I'd look to what's on special. Hopefully Darcy's sticks around and figures things out...
