Annora at Encore Restaurant - Langley

It's been a year since our last visit, but we definitely need to return. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were great!

My husband and I decided to try something local and it was GREAT! Great enough even that we have now booked it for my husband's company Christmas party! The chef and staff are professional, friendly and the food was AMAZING! Definitely recommend it if you like fine dining and great food!

This place is labeled as a "restaurant" but appears to function more as a catering business kitchen given its limited opening hours. During our last visit, the staff informed us that they had just finished catering an event and were not planning to open for regular service due to a long day. Despite sporadically turning on an "open" sign, there are no posted hours and locals have mentioned the establishment's inconsistent schedule. We were able to grab a meal once on a Friday night, which was decent but overpriced for a slightly upscale coffee shop/diner with subpar service. It seems the lack of regular operation has led to inexperienced wait staff. The location used to be a pizza/greek restaurant but has since been neglected as a proper dining spot, remaining costly and uninviting to both the community and visitors. It's unfortunate, as the place had the potential for so much more.

We attended a private party for a friends wedding last Saturday Evening. The ceremony, and the reception were held within the confines of the restaurant, and it was a very pleasant evening. The décor was nice for the occasion, but had been helped by the family of the groom to ensure that it was in the spirit of the occasion, but the basic infrastructure of the inside of the building is nice enough for that of a eating establishment. The food that was served buffet style was varied, and tasty for the group of about 50 people, consisting of a number of salads, vegetables, potatoes, and nice sticky type of pineapple rice, Asian chicken and a tender and flavourful baron of beef. The comments on the food were all positive, and that was good, when you have that many people stating the same thing. It was hot and it was plentiful. The desert table was excellent as well with Red Velvet cake and Cherry cheese cake. It was a great meal for this occasion. My only detrimental comment, was that they were a little understaffed at the bar and the line up was a little long, but they did have one of bartenders out sick for the day. Had they had a full time bartender it would have been great. It was a pay bar, and the prices were okay, not cheap, but not overly over the moon either. I would recommend this venue for this type of activity. I would like to try their food on a night when it is in its normal restaurant configuration, and I am sure we will do that.

We have eaten at Encore several times when visiting Aldergrove. Initially attracted by the live jazz, we now enjoy the great recorded music they play.
