We ordered the Calamari and bread. The bread was nondescript and the dipping sauce tasted like Costco Oregano oil YUCK and the Calamari was just odd kind of massive well cooked unseasoned pieces that were almost beer battered. I've eaten a lot of Calamari in my day but this was the weirdest. I just hated it. Too bad cause everything else about the place was great. Maybe we should have picked something else but we will never be back again .
The dinner was delicious and the whole experience was heart felt as if an Italian family had opened their doors and invited us to their dinner party. And we can also see the amazing passion from the food they prepare because they are so proud of everything they grow, make or cook. If anyone wants to participate the true Italian hospitality, it is worth a drive to visit Mangia E Scappa in Fort Langley.
I'm glad I ignored all of the negative reviews; this place reminded me of the quaint trattorias I visited throughout Italy. My guest and I spent a perfectly delightful evening there: the food was good, unpretentious Italian fare. The pizza was authentic, the closest you'll find in that neighborhood to real Italian pizza. If you're looking for an overloaded pizza with a doughy crust and an abomination of toppings, you won't find it here. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the accompanying sauce was decent, and the squid we ordered as an appetizer was crisp and lightly battered. The cannelloni I had for dessert was superb, better than some of the cannelloni I had in Italy.
We had a delicious dessert of cannelloni and sorbet. So fresh and authentic. The service could be faster but it matches the relaxed atmosphere. Will be back to try some pizza soon.
After wandering around fort Langley for a while felt hungry for dinner! Italian would be nice, I heard there was a new place in town by the train station on Mavis tucked around the corner and decided to try it out. Its a nice little restaurant were you seat yourself. Food is very good, but pricey. Atmosphere is great to bring a date and enjoy some wine.
