The Fort Neighbourhood Pub - Langley

We were vacationing in the Metro Vancouver area and visited The Fort pub for lunch on August 4/23. The food was average and so was the service. We ate on the patio and my visa went through at 2:37pm. The name of the server was Jacqueline. As I paid up, I was leaving a 15% tip and the waitress complained that I was leaving a poor tip at 10%. I said no, it was 15%. She went on to complain that she pays half of her tip to the kitchen and that 15% wasn't enough tip for her. She was going on about my poor tip and I just shut her out while I using the debit machine. We were shocked that this waitress was so brazenly entitled. Normally, I would cancel the tip and give $0 for such a rude server. Had I not been with family, I would've asked for a manager. But we're on vacation and were heading out, so I left it. Thankfully, I won't ever visit this pub again. But I have definitely told my friends and family who live in the area to avoid this pub at all costs! The fact that their staff feel it's ok to tell me how much they expect me to tip them is out of line.Interestingly, the next day we received 5/5 service at Denny's at 6am. You'd think we were eating in a fine dining restaurant from the service we received!Edit: I spoke with the manager who made it right... 100%. The manager agreed that how the server behaved was unacceptable and I will be giving this pub another try next time I am in town. This was a one-off experience rather than what I would normally experience at this pub.

Excellent service and great area. 4 as menu could be better for folks who like healthy food that is lighter. Familiar service with lots of pep. Great specials. Happy to recommendI love fresh choices not fried and healthy

Had the Orange Ginger Stir Fry and it was excellent. The vegetables were perfect hot but still crisp, the ginger beef was tender. The portion was great. Well done.

Good grub spot. The steak and fish tacos were surprisingly good. The Cajun chicken wings were too salty. Service was great.

This is my second time coming here as the first time two years ago was a great experience with an awesome staff. Today A the host walked us to our table without saying a word to us and threw the menus on the table and walked away. This place is in a nice location and the waitress was kind enough but she checked on us a solid two Times. once when ordering and once after flagging her down for the bill (we were there for about an hour 15 mins) the chilli chicken was good and big portions, same portions with the Mac and cheese but it was really oily and the sausage was so tough. I feel like quality of food and customer service went way down. Probably won’t be back.Update: I got food poisoning for the first time in my life from here.
