Gateway Fish & Chips - Langwarrin

This is one of the favourite among Aussies and unfortunately the fish and chips here was not all that good.The batter didn't come off totally crispy and the fish was a small portion; so much so that it felt more like a children's serve.Service wasn't that good either as even though they weren't busy, I had to wait at the counter for quite a while before being served.

I came here 2 months ago just to try it out. I knew the ownership changed ages ago and was dissapointed with the change. The flake was half thickness and the chips were super soggy and half cooked. The batter has doubled in thickness and the ingredients have diminished. Typically a cost cutting exercise.

Always a great feed - great staff (especially the boss). Been getting stuff from here for over 10 yrs and never had any issues

I lastwent here ages ago, wasseriouslydissapointed and said I'd never go back. Recently I decided to go back, almost forgetting how bad it had been the last time and sadly, nothing has changed.The service is miserable, the wait times given when you phone through your order are way underestimated and you end up waiting another 15 minutes after arriving at the given time and then to top it off, the food is horrible.Overcooked, in oil that tastes like it hasn't been changed or filtered for months and just not worth the time and money.I'm seriously never going here again.

Been going here for years and the staff are always friendly, my picks... crunchy Chips with chicken salt and a Hercules burger... amazing!
