Somerville Charcoal Chicken

Chicken is usually cooked well and the standard charcoal chicken salads and extras are available. Chips are crispy and gravy is ok. Cleanliness could be better but pretty average for your run of the mill charcoal chicken place. Staff are friendly but on a couple of occasions when busy have forgotten orders until other customers clear which leaves you waiting well beyond your place in the queue. Prices are about standard. You get what you would expect of a charcoal chicken.

Great chicken and salads .... chips to die for and reasonably priced ... we love the Potato and Seafood salad ..... gravy also a must for the chips

On occasion I get take away chicken from here. The chicken is tasty and the chips yum. They have nice fresh salads all at a reasonable price. They used to have a tasty tabbouleh but on changing hands they decided to stop making it. A real bug bear as it was really nice. But for a convenience meal you can't go past here.

Two incidents I've had here now. The first was when I phoned through an order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes, about 3 minutes later the manager rung me abusing me saying my food was waiting and it was inconveniencing him. Second was tonight, my husband and I went it to get some chips for the family, we were told we couldn't get just chips and had to buy chicken as well if we wanted chips, we said no we just wanted chips, we were told again if we wanted chips we had to get chicken as well. My husband said not to worry about the chips and as we walked out the manager mumbled something at us under his breath. I know it sounds ridiculous, but this is exactly what happened. Maybe he was trying to get rid of left over chicken, I don't know. Very very rude man, definately will not be back. If you drive an extra 10 minutes you will get another charcoal chicken with better service.

Quick service. Freshly cooked chickens and crispy chips cooked while you wait. Good range of meal options with fresh salads and hot vegetables. Kebabs also available. Good option for lunch or dinner.
