I love this place again. Go on.
It seems like Fast Valley has changed a lot since my last visit, as the food quality is not up to par. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The pictures I saw online are not an accurate representation of what was served to me. The fries were not cut the same and were soggy. Don't expect delicious golden puffs here. I ordered chicken fingers and poutine but received mushy fries and poorly cooked chicken fingers made from low-quality meat. They tasted burnt and had a gummy texture. The whole meal was inedible. Very disappointing.
The food was delicious and plentiful, but unfortunately the cake was overwhelming and terrible. I ended up leaving half of it behind, which is something I never do with dessert. The atmosphere is cozy with lovely nautical decor. It was fairly busy when I arrived, but quickly became empty. The server was very inattentive and never seemed to be around, making me wait for everything. It's a shame because the poor service makes me hesitant to return.
I would go only 2.5 because the wrap of my wife looked good and the suppe my sister had in law. my food tasted good, but if she bring you a sandwich with nothing but butter on her and the meat, it makes you wondering. then they are asked if they want to bring it, I was tied. then turn around and calculate us extra for them is not good customer service. not to mention that we had to wait long enough for the order. the last time I was there, it was much better.
I typically prefer Hilltop over Rapids, but Hilltop was closed so I decided to try Rapids instead. I ordered a poutine, which was nothing special. After a few bites, I encountered a chunk of fat that was unpleasant to chew. I understand that this may be from the gravy-making process, but for a $10 poutine (which wasn't even the best in town), I was disappointed. I ended up throwing it away because I don't want to be biting into chunks of fat in my meal. It was a waste of money and food.
