Service was also good, although French was only spoken so communication was a little challenging. Would go back again if in the area.
We had a tasty French meal- sat in the front with view of the fjord. Learned a little French as the waitress knew no English! Elegant setting with lots of time between courses to take in the setting sun and activity at the marina. Food was very French with soup, salad, escargot tasty meats and delicious brownies as a nod to America.
We stopped at this restaurant for lunch during our cruise on the Saguenay River. It is a short walk uphill from the boat dock. The elevation is enough to give you a wonderfully expansive view of the river (fjord) and the surrounding hills. The lunch really was excellent. The tomato soup was unique and superb. We ordered a second helping of soup because it was so good. We also had a trout sandwich, which was fresh, nicely presented, and very tasty. The restaurant is aware of the boat schedule, so the service is very prompt. We had plenty of time after the meal to wander around the port and take pic's and get an ice cream cone while we were there. The waitress opened the large window next to our table so we could enjoy the mild weather and take pictures. They are bilingual.
Typical French Auberge. Complete with hot french onion soup and crepes and great local beer. Overlooked the water and small yacht club.
We ate one evening, and just caught the last of the light. Great view, but not from all tables. Local beer at the bar, and tasty food. Tip: park around the back and you'll be at the same level as the restaurant. If you enter at the front you'll have quite a few stairs to climb.
