Shack - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

We like a good bar, so we thought we'd try this place. We noticed that in a previous review that someone was asked to leave because he wasn't local. We thought this unlikely, so we went there to see for ourselves. To our amazement, this was absolutely true. We were asked to take a seat and all was good when my wife spoke to the young female member of staff in Spanish. However, on hearing my wife speaking English, the same member of staff made an about-turn and asserted that the bar was fully reserved and had to leave!!!! I know, dear reader, that this sounds totally improbable in late 2021, but I promise you that this is true. The review we hoped to disprove was actually entirely accurate. I suspect, if this is not too strong a sentiment, that the bar is essentially racist. We are kind, polite people with money to spend. This was unforgivable.

For me it’s one of the better options to listen some music and enjoy a drink in Triana area. It’s not cheap but it’s ok.

Spanish lunchtime in the Triana area on New Year 's Eve is not the best time to be looking for a quiet place for wine and tapas. We found this place in a side street and there was a free table outside where we wanted to be! Jackpot! When we then met our friendly server, got served quickly with good cheap wine and a freebie pincho we were very happy. The menu is a delightful mix of modern tapas, salads and sharing plates, We enjoyed the two we chose and the atmosphere, but a family group arrived and seemed to be making a fuss! We were asked (politely) to surrender the table as they had reserved it! We resented this as there was no indication of reservation on the table so we paid up and left. The bar lost what might have been further orders and certainly our good will! What a shame!

Very good place of cups in the palms. excellent treatment of waiters and commissioners, coherent musical selection and good letter.

Mandatory stop when you return on vacation to the island. bar with charm, good music, good food, good drink and good attention from the waitress and waiters. especially the very attractive redhead girl, giving good recommendations and very good attention. That's what I said, mandatory stop on my Canarian holidays.
