The Irish Corner

Te tratan genial! Buena calidad y precio. Una terraza donde estarás muy a gusto. No se puede pedir más.

Buen lugar, ambientado con terraza animada. El personal es amable, aparcar un poco difícil. Puedes tomar cualquier bebida, cervezas, vinos, etc... También tienen sándwich y algunas cosas para picar, pero no demasiadas!

There's a theory that Guinness doesn't travel well. That it tastes better in Ireland. Former US president Barack Obama subscribes to that theory. Now that may be true. Although it could have as much to do with the craic as the stout. And, to corrupt Rupert Brookes' famous poem, there's some corner of a foreign field that is forever Ireland. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria's case, that would be The Irish Corner. Except the bar owner's very much Canarian rather than Celtic. A pint of the Black Stuff will cost you 4,20€ which is steep for these parts. However, there are bonuses in that the friendly owner will bring complimentary nibbles (crisps or nuts). Plus you can enjoy a view of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria's loveliest street, pastel-coloured Calle Perojo, with the cathedral behind. Look the other way and you'll see a square in which they filmed the movie which allegedly cost Brad Pitt his marriage to Angelina Jolie: 2016's Allied.

A cosy, family run bar with loads of atmosphere, local clientele and super service. Great selection of beer by the bottle, nice outdoor seating in a calm neighborhood. A favourite in Las Palmas!

Si buscas un lugar para tomar un café diferente, quizás el Irish Corner no sea la mejor opción. El local ofrece los típicos cafés estándar, y su única especialidad es el irish coffee, que combina café con whisky. Es más bien un sitio para beber alcohol y disfrutar del ambiente irlandés. El parque donde está la terraza tiene su encanto, pero no es nada extraordinario. Es más para ocio nocturno que para un tentempié. No es un sitio que me llame mucho la atención.
