My husband's Seafood Combo dish was overwhelmed by a very heavy tomato sauce. We believe it would have been better with the white wine sauce option listed on the menu. It didn't compare favorably to the Seafood Fra Diavolo we've had at other local restaurants. The bread, served warm and toasted, unfortunately tasted stale on both visits, with a crust that crumbles easily. I can't help but wonder how it would taste at room temperature. On the plus side, a decent salad is included with the cost of the entrée, which is nice. They offer draft Peroni, which definitely boosted my rating. The service was good, albeit not exceptional; while there were enough servers, we had to request water refills. The 70s music was quite loud until someone must have asked for it to be turned down. Overall, we think there are better Italian dining options in Schenectady.
I arrived just before 8:00 PM after a long day, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The service was incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent. I thought I might get some pushback for arriving late, but it was quite the opposite. I was greeted with a smile and promptly shown to a great table. The marinara sauce was the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely be returning – it was delicious! I give it a solid 5-plus stars.
I hadn't visited this place in a decade, assuming it was just a typical pizza joint. The exterior looked the same, so I never thought to stop by. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped inside and found a warm, inviting Italian atmosphere that felt like family. The service was excellent, and the meatballs and chicken dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. I agree with a previous reviewer that the bread could be fresher, but it wasn't enough to warrant a negative review. The pasta was cooked to perfection—just the way I like it, al dente. We'll definitely be returning soon!
I regularly order their tortellini alla Panna (tortellini with pink sauce), and it never fails to keep me coming back for more. I brought a friend who was visiting from out of town, and they loved their chicken marsala. The portions are likely large enough to share, but we were particularly hungry and nearly finished our own plates. We also tried their garlic knots, which were delicious. I highly recommend this place!
