I know they used to have a candy machine for feeding the Koi fish at the entrance, which likely attracted the birds that caused the mess, so it makes sense they got rid of it. One time, while I was feeding the fish, a bird swooped down and tried to snatch food from my hand—it was a bit scary! If you’re a hotel snob looking for a five-star experience with everything modern and fancy, this isn’t the place for you. The rooms are a bit dated and could definitely use some upgrades—the furniture and light fixtures might be from the '80s or even older. However, the beds are incredibly comfortable; you just sink right in when you lie down. The flat-screen TVs are relatively small—they could be a bit bigger—but we always bring my Apple TV along. Yes, sometimes we just hang out in our room to relax, eat, and watch TV. This past weekend, we even brought my Fire Stick, which worked great. We’ve stayed in rooms closest to the Edgewater side and noticed other rooms near the Brewery restaurant, but I haven’t had the chance to check those out yet. The pool stays open late, even in the winter months, which we learned from hearing people outside. Last weekend, we were on the first floor right next to the pool, and it was still bustling around 9 PM. I can’t imagine trying to sleep in that room during the summer after a night out. Besides the pool noise, the hotel is generally pretty quiet. There are two small stores/gift shops on-site, and I always enjoy browsing hotel gift shops to see what I can buy. There are a couple of bars here, and I’ve noticed that one near the water has live entertainment; unfortunately, I don’t know its name. They don’t have a dedicated player’s club area, just a cashier’s cage. The Colorado Belle’s location is convenient if you don’t mind walking. I love going to Riverside to visit Loser’s Lounge, which is about a 15-minute walk. Golden Nugget has a lovely lobby area with plants and waterfalls that’s slightly closer. There’s also a water taxi that used to be free, but now it’s $5 one way, or you can buy a day pass. Just be aware that the schedule varies based on the weather. There’s certainly no shortage of activities along the Laughlin riverfront. Bullhead, AZ, is just across the river, and we enjoy stopping by Sam’s Club for beer or Walmart for snacks if we didn’t stock up earlier. There are also some fast food places if you’re looking for something quick while coming in or out of Laughlin. So, if you’re not a hotel snob and don’t mind an older, budget-friendly place, give this hotel a shot! Their prices are incredibly low—so low that I’ve even booked an extra night just to avoid having to check out by the standard 11 AM, or to take advantage of a free late checkout at noon. By extending my stay, I can relax in the room all day and leave whenever I want. Make sure to sign up for the player’s club if you plan on gambling, as it offers free room deals and complimentary food vouchers to entice you back. Just be prepared for potentially long wait times at check-in. This doesn’t happen every time, but when there’s a large line, it seems to move slowly—not sure if it’s due to inexperience or just slow staff. Also, their reservation lines aren’t open 24/7 like in Vegas. If you call late, you might get no answer and have to try again in the morning. I found that a bit strange. When I checked in for my free two-night stay, I also asked if my partner could use another free night deal to extend our stay, but the staff member didn’t know and told me to come back during the day.
The hallways were in poor condition and clearly in need of remodeling, with old carpets, an unpleasant smell, and dirty walls. Our room was extremely dark and dusty. There were two lamps, but neither was connected to a light switch—our friends even had to remove the lampshades in their room just to get more light. Additionally, there was no closet door, no fridge, no extra outlets, and a stained, rusty shower. Don’t expect any of the basic amenities you typically find in a hotel room. If you can avoid it, I highly recommend NOT staying here.
It's difficult to form a strong opinion about this place since we didn't stay long enough to really assess it. Unfortunately, it was far too smoky for our liking. The atmosphere looked nice, but even the painted room was filled with smoke. We've experienced it once and likely won't return. After all, why go to a casino if you're not interested in gambling?
The room itself felt like a blast from the past, with old furniture that was scratched and damaged. The bathroom was in a similar state. We were definitely disappointed, but you really can't beat the price for a stay here. We were mostly out exploring, so it served its purpose for sleeping and getting ready. They have plenty of gaming machines, but unfortunately, there were no blackjack tables open, and the couple of restaurants didn't meet our service expectations. Overall, they definitely need to make some upgrades to compete with the more modern hotels in Laughlin. As other reviews have mentioned, you get what you pay for at the Colorado Belle.
This is a lovely casino situated right by the river. It offers a wide variety of gaming machines, numerous table games, and a spacious poker room. There are also a couple of restaurants and several bars to choose from. I haven't stayed here, so I can't comment on the rooms. However, we had a great experience at Pints Brewery and enjoyed playing blackjack with a dealer named Stephanie.
