I ordered the vegan option yellow curry with jasmin thai. the curry was nicely mild and with a lot of sauce. something nice and tofu. if they are after a good amount of veg, one of the hoop friys could be a better option. However, none of them on the menu that we identified as vegan and I was too tired to ask. the personal was friendly and the location is central. updated by the previous rating on 2022 09 29
I loved this place as omni, but it offers only one or two dishes. they are delicious, but they are better to go lotus on the street (same owners and all vegan apparently) or monsun next door.
Separate vegan menu. friendly staff. delicious food.
Read the bad reviews, but see that it was Sunday night and not much was open thought I would go. said the waitress I was vegan, she rushed into the kitchen to confirm what vegan was then came back to take the order. I ordered a Thai curry, but then she disappeared again this time with a vegetarian menu. it had about 4 or 5 articles on it and was even more expensive than the meat cures! $20 for a vegetable tourer (no tofu, only sweet and not included) . Also there was not what was vegan and at least one of the vegetarian dishes contained i.e., frankly, just do not disturb, this place does not even belong to happycow, the pub around the corner ended with better vegan option!
I had the red curry and I just asked if there was any fish sauce and they said no. Figure since it has no egg and used coconut milk I was safe. I'm not a picky vegan so I didn't say I was a vegan because I read in an earlier review about an extra charge, not sure if it's a vegan fee lol. The red curry with tofu was good, also had a side of rice. Came to $21 which is pretty norm in Australia just saying cause saw people posting price complaints. That said the portions were not small but also not great. There are not a lot of vegan options in Launceston so I would say if you're hungry this place is worth a go.
