Esca - Launceston

The Chef, Matt Begbie and his team have won the award during our culinary experience in Esca in the Mantra Charles Hotel, Launceston. Matt is new and has certainly shaped his reputation in this restaurant. Meals were cooked for perfection and well presented. I had the eye fillet and my wife had the salmon. We both were very happy with the size of our meals and flavors. The waiter who served us was extremely efficient and polite, but could also offer suggestions when asked. We followed his suggestions for Dessert and were not disappointed. The whole night was very pleasant with plenty of space and pleasant background music. Beer and wine prices were also very affordable, unlike some others. The chef informed us that the menu was just about the update and we will definitely be partake again in more culinary delights. Well done Esca.

I went to Esca and looked at the menu. What I actually wanted was a food salad that wasn't on the menu. But the friendly waitress said it was possible anyway, so I went in. I was served a great salad, just what I was looking for and created on site. The food and aromas were delicious and very well balanced. Although I wasn't very hungry, I ended everything. The service was excellent. Although I am a bit of a picky guest sometimes in restaurants, I would go back to Esca anytime. Thank you.

We had a high tea for my best friends hens day yesterday, the room and the facilities were perfect, the food was nice and super value aswell. All staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful. Thanks, the bride had a wonderful time like all the other guests. We recommend you all.

Had my baby shower as a high test. Absolutely fabulous! Service was great and the food was fantastic!

I had coffee then went to work. Had a good day. Nothing exploded. Five stars.
