J&p Pizza Italian - Laurel

I would rate this restaurant 4 stars for the food. The chicken was exceptionally delicious, perfectly flavored and crispy, and the prices are fair! The young man who took my order was friendly and professional. Since it was my first visit, I was a bit hesitant at first because the carryout area could use some improvements in appearance, but the food more than made up for it.

It's surprising to see so many negative reviews. I've been ordering from this place for three years and have rarely encountered any issues. The pizza is consistently good, and the tater tots are fantastic. The prices are reasonable, and delivery is prompt. While their phone service may not be the best, the drivers and food quality have always been reliable. Overall, it’s always been a solid choice for pizza.

The pizza here is fantastic! However, if you're planning to get takeout, I recommend not ordering online. The prices for pizza are significantly lower if you call in your order. For example, an online order for a large two-topping pizza is nearly $20, but if you call, it's only about $10.

I have been meaning to try this place for a while. I see it when I'm going in and out of the Food Lion on 216. So today I was in a mood for a little yelping. First of all the entrance is quite convoluted and obscure, you have to go in like you're going to the bank and then turn into the small shopping center where J&P is located. I wanted to try a slice of their pizza and they only had plain cheese at the time. So I got them to add mushrooms and onions which they just fried separately and threw onto the pizza. The pizza itself was about $5 for a not particularly big slice. So I was a little put off at first. And was just chalking this up to a one time exploration. But when I bit into the pizza I noticed the crust was quite good and they used good cheese. Now while that seems obvious to do, but a lot of pizza places don't. So even as I was eating the slice I was intrigued and want to go back and give them another try. So I reserve the right to change this rating after my next visit.

A group of eight of us had dinner last night. 7 unique items were ordered. All but one were significantly under or over seasoned. Three items were good, sausage sub, garlic bread, and water. Service was between acceptable to poor. I will never darken there door again.
