Due Compari al Barolo - Laval

We decided to dine at this restaurant based on glowing recommendations from family members, but we were left feeling disappointed. The service was pleasant and had an old European charm to it. Unfortunately, the highly praised "grilled octopus" dish did not live up to expectations - it looked nothing like the picture on their website and the pieces were small, dry, and yellowish in color. My shrimp dish was also dry and tough. The rest of the meal was average at best and we found the prices to be on the higher side.

I visited Due Compari with a colleague and we were impressed by the friendly service provided by the owners. This restaurant caters primarily to business professionals during lunchtime and boasts a large following of loyal customers. The owner personally attended to our table, explaining the menu in detail and recommending a delicious wine. To top off our meal, we were treated to complimentary Grappa shots by the owner. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for a lunch outing!

The service and food were quite exceptional. We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and I am so glad we did. If you make this your stop try the seafood risotto...AMAZING!

I was used to go to BAROLO excellent food and service. Now it's called I DUE COMPARI AL BAROLO....for sure it's another management. What a difference the prices are way up the sky for very smal portions... We ordered a bottle of red wine price $38 the waiter said that is the wine you ordered by name I said yes. We ordered a second bottle, we had to ask for water every time never asked if we wanted desert (having had la table d'hôte). So we asked for the bill and by our surprise he charged $58 the bottle, asked the waiter to bring me the wine list, showed him the bottle I ordered the first one on the list, and he said but Madame there is another bottle with the same name and I thought that was the one you ordered....RIP OFF!!! Never ever going back again.

Had a beautiful dinner with my family. food was amazing.you have to try the food one time and then you will be satisfied.
