In view of the price class I expect a waitress that knows how to open a bottle of wine (it was one of these new glass cap and I had to show the girl how to continue) and who knows how to serve it properly (no ice cup to keep the white wine cooled, huge glasses at the top in a portion). we had a very nice time, but for 3 or 4 star prices, I expect 3 or 4 star service. so I tipped and told the waitress.
We loved the ambiente, decor and live music! perfect for jazz lovers. great bar. good eating with generous portions, friendly and fast service. we were not overcrowded in the week there).
My boyfriend and I went to the House of Jazz for the first time during our vacation. We fell in love with the place : beautiful decor, great service, delicious food, wonderful ambiance and lovely music. We truly appreciated that the waitress let us take our time, enjoy ourselves and did not rush us out. We will definitely be back!
We experienced House of Jazz with Michele Sweeney in Montreal and had to come here to experience the Laval club. Awesome.
Really funny atmosphere and music, the trio on stage has a great job entertained us. The food was extremely overpriced and not excellent. Appetizers were great, but ribs and tuna didaki were 'ok' not worth the exorbitant charge. We were not told that there was a $30 'Invitation '' ' '' added to the bill. This is something you need to advise your client PRIOR to order. They do not offer glasses of water. Really? No water? You need a bottle of overpriced water PURCHASE. The most basic and FREE thing around, and you can't offer a glass of water. It is embarrassing and a huge disconnection for what you calculate. As far as the service is concerned, there is slow, and then it is slow beyond. I would have got a faster service from a turtle running backwards during an icestorm in Melasse. The waiter RUNS from you forbids you a question. My husband has a SEVERE allergy to hops (mostly found in beer), so we wanted to exclude that the fish n chips and onion soup were made with beer, and we wanted to confirm that no other items on the beer menu had in their preparation, and the waiter did NOT inspire any confidence. He was meek with his answers to kind of scrubbing his shoulders, and didn't seem worried when we said this could land him in the hospital when she was consumed. Take your customers seriously. The table next to us was so frustrated that her food took so much time that they left. What a disaster. I told them we were there for the birthday. Zero confirmation. At the age of Customer Experience and Post Covid, SERVICE is EVERYTHING. Get in and get your act together House of Jazz. People want to spend their money, they just won't spend it for your institution. It's a shame because it's a nice place and the hostesses are friendly.
