If you're looking for a good Italian restaurant, it's that! I had the calf Biba... the calf was super tender with Shitake mushrooms crushed in a delicious gravy along with a side paste and delicious tomato sauce! The garlic bread is delicious and also Jalapeño Poppers! Salads were good. The zuppi di Pesce with mussels mussels Calamari and shrimps in Sampi wine sauce over Linguini needed a bit of taste as well as the chicken in Alfredo, but over everyone was delicious!
The professionals: our waitress was excellent. She was attentive, patient and friendly. The cons: the food was of the kind and quality you expect to find in a diner that does not specialize in Italian food. The sauce that came with the mozzarella sticks that seemed like something we bought from the freezer case in the local food market, tasted Bland and almost metallic. The sauce in the angel's hair Pasta was so watered as if the paste was not dewatered. The mushrooms with spinach, mushroom and bacon salad did not look like they were thoroughly cleaned first. It tasted okay, but it was actually too much bacon. I can't believe I'm saying that! With all the other options of the Italian restaurant you can simply skip them.
We've been going to Biba for 20 years, but our last visit has done the last time. The service was good and not wrong, the lady was torn by her feet, although it seemed 3 or 4 young ladies from the door / bar huddled. But the service was one of the highlights of the visit. We ordered appetizers. Fried Ravioli and Mozzarella Sticks. The Ravioli came to the table as if it had been tipped on the plate.. The bread was dry and tasteless... As it was coated in sawdust. Stale saw dust. The same for the mozzarella sticks. We ordered Entrees. They came with a house salad. Some salad greens, a quarter tomato maybe a little gurke and a pepper, plus the dressing of your choice. When I changed my salad to the Greek salad, I had no idea it was a modified house salad that would swim in Balsamico vinegar with onions, olives and Feta cheese crumbs for a $5 charge. $5! The baked bowls of the woman were dry and overcooked. The Pasta Carbonara I ordered while I was very hot and plentiful, was so thick it was difficult to eat. And perhaps unfortunately, the garlic rolls for which Biba was so famous earlier are simply not all that. They are smaller, have much less butter, garlic and herbs and are more of an afterthought than a feature. In the end, the dinning room needs a makeover. I cannot remember whether it has ever been updated, but the current institution is old and dated and unloaded. I'm sorry. You have something to do.
Everything was freshly made from the seafood like the calamari and scallops to the mushrooms in the veal. The service was good and are very accommodating for other items such as lemon or change of your side.
