(1st time was arrival; 2nd time was to pick up lost suitcase). We are staying at an airport hotel in Mauregard and there are NO PLACES TO EAT.AT.ALL. So the third time we went to eat. My family ate Mickey D's but I wanted to eat a good filling meal. The potato wedges were SO GOOD!!! The chicken was a tiny bit dry but still very good. The salad was a great compliment. The mushrooms in the seasonal veggies were NOT good. They reeked of bath water. DEFINITELY stop here if you want a filling meal just don't order the lemonade unless you want SPARKLING lemonade, which I hate Bon appetit
WARNING Don't let the looks of inside this place fool you. I promise you you're better off going next door to McDonald's and having a better meal. It took 30 minutes to be served ice cold onion soup. The salmon steak was almost flavorless and the soda of pilaf rice was hard, dry uncooked and cold. This place is really a waste of money. Don't waste your time here! I'm very disappointed I should of asked for my money back!!!!!!
Normally an airport restaurant is supposed to be an airport restaurant but since this is no longer 1995 airports were supposed to be stepping up their food game. This place used to be a Hippopotamus restaurant that was pretty damn good and now it is supposed to be a trendy-French-Ameri Bistro that falls short of the facade of being hip. And let's face it, if an establishment is outshined by the McDonald's next door there is a problem. I've been to this restaurant 3 times, which is enough for a fair review, and as such I'm afraid I shan't be back. I'm familiar with French restaurants and having to wait, but the level of waiting and server apathy is so great that it is beyond annoying and ceased to be charming. Case in point, they have a happy hour that allows for 1/2 price beers...if you get there anywhere from 30-45 minutes before it ends you are lucky to get two beers...when in America that's plenty of time to tie one on. It's crazy! The food is alright. The quinoa bowl is pretty good and I recall their bacon cheeseburger being pretty good as well but aside of that the menu selection it is fairly blasé and with McDonalds being next door it is honestly just as good sans the bar.
While I appreciate them making me a Salmon steak meal even though it was only 10am, the dish was almost flavorless. The accompanying rice was dry and no salt at all. A little disappointing, especially when expectations are set for a foodie restaurant.
Very average airport restaurant. Frenchy's is a good place for a pit stop, if not a memorable meal. I came in for a quick coffee and croissant. Service was a little on the slower side but more than adequate. Prices are a little on the higher side but it is not expensive. The main competition for Frenchy's is a McDonald's or a Pauls in the adjacent check-in area that is a bit cramped. All in all, Frenchy's was A-OK.
