O-taku Manga Lounge

Grandson and I, visiting Quebec, had to check this out. So cool. Relaxing atmosphere, refreshments. I had bubble tea, he had hot chocolate. We played some chess, he read some books. Such a great idea! manga in one place than I’ve ever seen.

I went here out of curiosity and was not disappointed. I didn't try anything except some tea and onigiri which were made to order and served on a stylish plate. No eating implements east or west were provided and my French isn't...good enough to query this. The onigiri were all good but they are huge and three of them made more than a snack especially as they are mostly sushi rice. The furinake was the best and would make a light snack on its own. The service was friendly and relaxed and the unique setting with people browsing and discussing manga books and drawings made for a unique experience.

Cafe and bookstore of Japanese manga. Was there on a Sunday and there were many preteen children reading and lounging. Very comfortable, cozy and stimulating place. Great teas! Japanese food also available. Service was very friendly. Cozy sofas and tables to sit, eat, drink, or...read.

We were visiting Montreal, googled manga stores and came upon this lovely shop/library! Very wide selection of manga in French and wonderfully calm atmosphere. We enjoyed the library portion of the lounge per reading hour, tea is offered) and enjoyed the shop portion by...browsing through the various items. The owner is very kind and also offers different types of Japanese snacks and food such as ramen, onigiri, bubble tea etc. Was a great find and looking forward to going back soon !

Une librairie avec un immense coins lecture très confortable (5$ pour 1 heure, forfait de lecture disponible). La sélection est immense et les employés sont d'excellant conseiller. Par contre, les mangas sont principalement disponible en français.Des collations sont disponible pour acheter (Bubble tea, Ramen, Onigiri, Pocky, Mochi, etc). Il y a aussi quelques goodies à acheter, des cours de japonais et de dessins disponible. L'ambiance est très relaxe, parfait pour une sortie entre amis, couple et famille.
