Excellent food and exceptional service! eat the cake!

Although our server was very nice, he spent an unordered time on our table with us. we came to the restaurant to have an intimate birthday dinner and the server ruined it for us.

Nicholas was great! Excellent service from a walk in the door and at the bar.

Every time I go here, I’m always impressed by the food, service and just over all experience. And Bela is the best!

Poor kitchen execution on the foie gras, marrow bones, creamed spinach and sea bass. Wait staff snafu as the actual dessert ordered for the birthday celebrant was forgotten and then delivered to the table with a smeared chocolate” happy birthday” inscribed on the plate with thumb markings. The miscues were beneath 801 Chophouse standards established by the Des Moines location. Changing the focus of the evening and memories being made to continually address the suboptimal product coming from the kitchen was not my plan. My mistake for selecting 801 for an irreplaceable special occasion without knowing the shortcomings of the Leawood location.
