Matosinhos Leca Beach

Sítio lindo, mesmo no verão a água estava fria.Fomos caminhando até o Porto. Um passeio da beira mar ao beira rio.Durante a caminhada, fotos, almoço... Restaurante a Beira mar, bancos nos jardins.Brisa de mar e do rio.Recomendamos esse lindo passeio de uma cidade à outra.

Nice beach

Cool beach with a lot of restaurants around. Not good for swimming though.

A really beautiful tidal pool built into the rocks on the beach. There's an entrance ticket you can buy for half or full day. The pools are salt water one adult and one for children on the right is a very nice rock pool area that allows you to wade in to waist deep. There are showers and toilets. There also a cafe bar where you can rent loungers and umbrella. There are strangely no lockers available but there are several security guard roaming around. There buses running along the side of the beach to get back to Porto but just take a taxi there uber is available. The only issue is that it can be windy. The sea waves are also enough for surfers so not great for swimmers.

I went in October and the sea was still very warm, the sun was still out, but the waves were far too strong to enjoy a swim. Stay in the shallows and have a paddle, or grab a surf board and go surfing, but swimming is very challenging/dangerous.
