Very helpful front desk staff. Grateful for the extra care by the Flight Deck lounge servers when I was sick. Convenient location as the first stop or last pick up for the free airport shuttle. It runs every half hour from the hotel. If arriving at YEG, catch it at Door 10. Look for Metro Shuttle. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. Our flight was canceled by the airline due to extreme cold temperatures in Alberta Canada. I had written documentation proving the cancellation from the airline, and had taken screenshots of the flight cancellation on the airline website. Despite pleading with the front desk that we didn 't simply decide not to come , that our flight was canceled, that we wouldn 't even be in the vicinity and I could prove it...they refused to issue a refund for the room. Not only that, I was informed if I did not agree to cancel my room and forfeit all the money I had already paid, there would be a no-show charge added. I spoke with three different people about this matter, one of them was the manager. Zero accountability on the part of Royal Hotel. Fellow travellers, do not stay here. There are so many other good choices of hotels to stay with. This hotel doesn 't care about you. They displayed no compassion nor good customer service. FOLLOW UP..... Was contacted by manager David Vandermeulen who was incredibly helpful, and resolved the entire situation, complete with a full credit. Great customer service in the end, much appreciated.
