The Mermaid Fish - Leeds

We had a small but lovely family reunion today in The Mermaid and had a really lovely time. Great friendly efficient service from Soloman and Diana who took over the restaurant in March. Such a change since we met up there last year. Excellent decor and ambiance. The food was tasty and a very reasonable price. And a big thank you to Soloman for our lovely treat when he realised how important our get together really was. So thanks to everyone who made our dining experience so special today from the chief to the owner. We shall return.

Lovely updated restaurant, much-admiring the modern dark-blue colour scheme of the bar area). Known this restaurant a long time and always said this to be the best place to enjoy a beautifully cooked and tasty quality fish and batter combined. Lovely restaurant, surroundings and food. Enjoy!

Amazing fish and chips, great service and well priced! Can't ask for more! Well worth a visit, we will certainly be going back.

Very disappointing. Visited a couple of times previously, last time 2 years ago and was very pleased. Went today and nowhere near as good. Batter on fish was nice and crispy but the fish inside was very dry. The chips were just awful, and the mushy peas ok. Certainly not worth the £34 for 2 haddock, fish, chips, mushy peas and cokes. Long wait for service as lack of staff. Won’t be going back.

Attended with my family for lunch. Service from Sol was exceptional and the food was very good. Highly recommend.
