Their rice is very light, and all their ingredients are well-balanced in each roll. My favorite is the 'plain ' salmon sushi, but the Salmon Roll, BMW, Rainbow Roll, Crazy Monkey, and Mr. James Roll is delicious. Compared to other sushi places, the freshness and flavor of the fish and vegetables alone is the reason I come to Mint. <br/ <br/ Mint is not cheap, but it is not as expensive as other places I 've been to, but comparing prices and freshness of food causes me to see this as a great value for quality food. Service almost always is great when I 'm there, but occasionally can be slow, but that is common with any small eatery when they are overwhelmed on a busy night. The waiters are kind, attentive, and even remember your preferences after a few visits. They have gluten-free options such as GF soy-sauce rolls and certain waiters are knowledgeable about what has gluten in it.
We have tried a lot of sushi restaurants in both KS and MO. We love our little home town Mint! They may be small but they are FRESH and DELICIOUS every time. Love the Spicy Crab, Mr. James, Boston Bay, Crazy Monkey. Kids love the hibachi steak and shrimp and the fried rice is amazing! Give it a try if they are packed it is worth the wait!
This is by far the best sushi in LS/BS/IN area. The restaurant is cute and fun looking. The rolls are above average but tend to run on the small side and sometimes they are a bit sloppy for all of the effort the put into the presentation.
The sushi was delicious, with fantastic flavors and a reasonable price for lunch. Service was a bit slow, despite there being only two other couples in the restaurant. I would definitely come back again.
This restaurant keeps getting better with every visit! I first dined here a year ago and despite trying other sushi places in Westport, KCMO, and beyond, I have yet to find a better spot. The cozy little restaurant in Lee's Summit has become my favorite sushi spot. The prices are very reasonable, the sashimi is fresh and fairly priced, and every dish I order impresses me with its freshness. The service is usually very good, though it may suffer slightly during busy times. One tip: try their mint water, even though it's not on the menu. I may just have to move to Lee's Summit so I can enjoy this place even more often!
