Feedback gevenIf you have the chance, be sure to visit Smoke Brewing. They offer fantastic local craft beer, a wonderful menu, and lovely decor. Don’t miss their homemade “Brown Sugar Old-Fashioned” Bourbon, which is smooth and perfectly balanced—not too sweet! Stroll through the charming downtown Lee’s Summit and take the opportunity to enjoy what Smoke Brewing has to offer!
We also ordered coleslaw as a side. It was enjoyable but a bit too drenched in dressing, even for someone who typically prefers wetter coleslaw and salads. We tried a beer flight that included five of our chosen beers. Aside from the Smoke Citra Obscura, which paired really well with the pig stall, the other selected beers were a bit larger than expected. Overall, it was a nice experience, but there are certainly areas for improvement.
Their tasting menu is extensive, featuring options from pale ales to stouts and everything in between. Jeff, the resident Bourbon expert, even let me sample his 'brown sugar old-fashioned,' a delightful mix of bourbon and sugar paired with smoked orange peel. This cocktail was a fantastic treat. But let's focus on the beer. Smoke Brewing prides itself on handcrafted brews, and their caramel-brown ales are stunning, showcasing clear, malty colors. Their IPA offerings are also impressive. I highly recommend a glass of 'Citra Obscura,' which highlights its hoppy character up front and gently fades on the finish. While I haven’t yet tried the food (hence the emphasis on beer), the quality of their brews speaks for itself. Great bar, great beer, and a fantastic place overall.
Great old fashion, friendly staff and excellent variety of food options. If you are a fan of Mac Cheese and Brisket the Brisket Mac Cheese is incredible!
Holy burnt ends!!!!! How have I tried so many places in KC and not found any truly mindblowing burnt ends until now!?Granted I'm not from KC and thus cannot judge true burnt ends, but as a Floridian, Smoke's burnt ends are the embodiment of the burnt ends of my dreams! Both beef and pork options have something unique to offer. The beef ones are meatier, tender and juicy with a deep umami flavor. The pork ones are like literal candy, fatty and unctuous and melt in your mouth with a crisp sear. They're both insanely good and the two meat platter is the best way to experience them.Their beer is also very good! Let's not forget about that! I thoroughly enjoyed my Black Udder Stout and the Vietnamese Coffee Stout, and I enjoyed even more that they offer smaller 5 oz pours for lightweights like me! If you're trolling for BBQ and/or beer in Lee's Summit, (and let's face it who isn't? this is definitely the place to be!
