Whistle Stop Coffee Mercantile

This is a great stop for coffee, sweet or savory baked goods, and breakfast or lunch. Potato bacon soup was their soup of the day when I went and it was delicious.

Absolutely the worst coffee I have ever tasted. Having sampled coffee all over the KC metro and the world, from Paris to Bogota, I can say this is worse that Folgers. The drinks were so syrupy that the flavors didn’t blend. They tasted chemically and took nearly 45 min to get five coffees with three baristas working. They weren’t busy at all. I visited yesterday for the first time and ordered my usual everywhere I go, an iced chai with no ice. Is it weird? Yes. Do I understand that ice takes up space in a cup? Yes. However, never in my life have I been to a coffee shop that charged me $4+ for a drink that is mostly milk to not even fill the 20oz cup up half way. I maybe got 8oz of liquid. Sandwiches were great! Only complaint is seating is limited and not comfortable at all.

May I make a suggestion? They need to assign order numbers to call out. Not YELL out the entire order. So annoying and disruptive to conversations. It’s loud enough already.
