The restaurant exceeded our expectations. My wife and I both ordered the dorade and it was very fresh and beautifully prepared. Almost all the patrons were French, and that is usually a good sign for the quality of the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Great food and wine. Don't buy into the never ending dessert buffet, it's a waste of money. Reservations are a good bet. Enjoy!
Each summer when we come here, our children and grand-children come and visit, and each time our adult children spend a night with dinner at La Maison as a treat, leaving the grandchildren with us (yeah! . They love it. Last night, our turn, The Other...Half and I ate there. The restaurant is lovely, whether inside or outside. We chose to eat outside, the cooler evenings are, I grant you, drawing in, but we are strong, we are British! It is a charming terrace amongst trees and fairy lights. We both had fois gras with figs, the chef cleverly inserts a fresh fig into the f-g, and serves with a confit fig on the side and a beautifully dressed little salad. TOH then had duck breast, faithfully cooked rose, with little vegetable spring rolls, without the deep frying, and he said they were delicate and delicious. I had scallops, which come with creamed potatoes and a dark jus and a sprinkling of nutty things, and it really is tasty and well cooked. I could manage no more, but TOH went valiantly on to the dessert trolley, more an edifice really than a trolley, and did what damage he could to that. Several times. Wines by the glass are very good. Service is smiley and efficient.
Une belle maison typique, une terrasse agréable sous les arbres, une cuisine raffinée et un personnel aux petits soins, loin de l'agitation du bord de mer, et des terrasses bondées... En somme, un petit coin de paradis au Cap Ferret !
