The rooms and the interior are also untypically spacious and complex for a Greek restaurant. Since food and drink can keep up with this level, I can recommend the Kellari completely. After the Sappho at Dorotheenplatz, which I have already praised and discussed, a second good Greek address in Leipzig and I suspect more. The price performance ratio is four stars. Service: When I was in the main room on an early summer evening, only a few tables were occupied on the terrace. Later a very large group of younger people appeared. I experienced three powers in service. A young and an older male operator and a middle-aged woman. The outer garments held in a chimney red, suitable for the walls. The drinks and food came in me convening time intervals. Only the appetizer followed the basket with bread and the dip from the house on the foot. Only the female operation finally asked if it tasted. Otherwise, the guest address is limited to the most necessary information exchange. No smile, let alone a friendly comment, partly walking through the local tunnel view. So no trace of Greek hospitality (a motto on the website, [here link] . Here the host should work hard on itself with his service team in view of the investment in a large restaurant that many guests require. I also like to give only good three stars (Pflicht four, Kür hardly three. The drinks prices are very cheap in the Kellari: 0.3 l Bitburger is already available for 2,10 €, 0.75 l mineral water comes to 4,20 €. There is a separate wine card with very detailed descriptions of Greek quality wines; some of them are presented openly. The glass 0.2 l begins at 4.50 €. I tried the Malagouzia as a white wine (4,50 €, named after the grape variety and the red mavroudi (5,00 €, as well as the grape variety ambience . Because of its freshness, the white matched to the high summer temperatures, the red was then a good lead to my main dish. But also the Retsina Malamatina, which I like to drink before me, can be found on the map (0.5 l 6.50 €). Essen: The map is available on the website. In addition to the usual cold and warm appetizers (3,20 to 7,90 € you will find six cheese specialities; follow the usual grill dishes (from €10.50 for Gyros or Souvlaki to €18.90 for lamb fillets , few pan dishes and gratinized as well as sea animals. On the special card still interesting such as grilled octopus tarts, filled calamares or sworn veal. In front a basket with several slices of homemade bread and a very small bowl with a dip (tail sauce with some garlic aroma. The bread very fine-pored, already slightly crumbling, no crusty crust. Then the eggplant puree (5,50 €. It was classically fruity prepared (so not the optically very bright preparation with yogurt. Some garlic, chopped parsley and not too fine worked, three good balls were found on the plate to a very good olive oil. And refreshingly cold. Good four stars! On the map, the pork fillet filled with sheep cheese had irritated me, which should enter into a rice and pomegranate liaison with stem potatoes with ham cubes (and truffle oil as well as estragons sauce (16.80 €). This properly tempered and consisting of leaf salads made with olive oil and vinegar. For my taste slightly oversalted. The pork fillet very delicate, still slightly rusty. The filling with the sheep cheese succeeded. The stamping potatoes were (at the top of the day, I could say “from the texture” rather squirting potatoes that decompose, but are still slightly piecey. They were lukewarm and made with the ham cubes a tasty and saturating supplement to the pork fillet (Truffle oil I could neither smell nor taste . The estragons sauce, which was separated in a bowl on the plate, would have improved nothing. The estragon note was only weakly pronounced, which should not be a criticism, because Estragon is very dominant and does not fit me into grilled. That's how it remained at cost. The portion size is good. From the kitchen I was given a pure glass with cold Greek yogurt and raspberry syrup. Salt and pepper mills were brought to my request. In toto solid four stars for food. Ambiente: The Kellari is not a blue white or table Greek. If you enter the restaurant you would strongly suspect a raised Italian. Restaurant funnels seem to maintain certain standards that are common to the public. In the Kellari there are a dark floor in floor optics, fireplace red walls, light beige padded benches, stools and chairs, dark wood for the tables, shelves with room divider function and the counter. On the walls the so popular black white photos of film and music stars and onassis. High walls and bright ceilings with small chandeliers give the restaurant room size. But the floor plan is also remarkable and there are three large-area inner areas. The tables are large and the open spaces between them are generous. I have rarely experienced a restaurant with such freedom of movement. She goes to the basement toilets. You can read that I think the waitari is very successful, even if some design elements come from the catalogue for an upscale restaurant. The terrace is also widened to a small beer garden and is furnished in a long way. Four stars superior. Cleanliness: Everything is still very new and well maintained.
We love the food and the staff is super friendly. You always feel comfortable here. So far we have not found any better Greeks in Leipzig.
Food is tasty, special food requests are fulfilled. It went fast and the staff is nice. Seat available. Near the center. Parking best in the Natural History Museum, there from 18:00 without parking fees.
Very recommended. Very friendly service. Delicious food. All clean. All right.
The food tasted very good. The map also offers a wide selection. The service was attentive; there was a greeting from the kitchen as an appetizer and dessert. Only criticism would be that it could be too bright and loud in the guest room.
