Mata Bicho Real Taverna - Leiria

The atmosphere is top notch with its high ceiling and a buzz that makes you feel that you have come to the most desirable cafe in Leiria. Food was a big disappointment though, with a very mediocre pizza and a Caesar salad that had no business being called a Caesar salad. BUT…I must say that Mata Bicho delivered one of the the most memorable bathroom experiences I have ever had. I mean this sincerely, but I won’t give further details so as to not ruin it for you.

A lovely restaurant in a lovely location with plenty of outdoor seating and friendly, attentive staff. The attentive staff offered us some basic local snacks, which we followed by the padrons, a pasta dish, steak, salad, and some fruit as a desert. All we had was nicely cooked, albeit rather unimaginative. An extensive wine list, which the staff was very happy to help with. The end result of which was a very enjoyable bottle of Douro red. Not the best meal I’ve ever had, but no regrets having our Sunday dinner here.

Comecei a frequentar a alguns dias este restaurante e já está no top 5 de Leiria. A começar pelo espaço, atendimento, comida claro (caldo verde). As melhores pizzas são daqui pois são cozidas a lenha. Faz toda a diferença. Agradeço e parabéns mais uma vez. Quero dar os parabéns ao cozinheiro ou cozinheira. Pizzaolo já lhe disse. Top mesmo, 5*
