Half Time Sports - Leland

After seeing one of the cooks take out the trash and then return to the cooking line without washing his hands, and then learning that the health department shut them down for operating without hot water, I couldn't stay any longer. It’s worrying to think about the sanitation of their dishes, so I’d rather not drink there at all. It’s a real disappointment because they do have a great selection of draft beers. Leland really needs a good (and clean) sports bar!

The hot wings were just okay—not particularly impressive. However, the buffalo chicken Philly was fantastic, packed with flavor. The buffalo chicken wrap was decent but nothing worth raving about. On the other hand, the side salad was the highlight of the meal; it was generously topped and bursting with flavor. Excellent job on that! The bartender was really friendly and made our Bacardi and cokes with a generous pour. The seasoned fries were outstanding—crispy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. Definitely make sure to try the fries!

The wings themselves were a good size—large and juicy. However, the hot sauce was more peppery than spicy, which wasn’t my favorite flavor. It wasn’t quite what I expected. On the other hand, the teriyaki sauce was fantastic—sweet and tangy in just the right balance! I also tried the Cajun sauce, a dry rub, which wasn’t what I was hoping for; I was expecting a sauce. I can't recall if it was listed as a rub on the menu, so I may have set myself up for disappointment. The celery was fresh, and the blue cheese dressing was delicious. We also ordered the potato skins, topped with bacon bits, green onions, cheddar cheese, and a generous dollop of sour cream—oh my, were they tasty! These weren’t skimpy portions; they serve hearty, substantial dishes! While the wing flavors might not have been my favorites, everything was well-prepared. A side note: Thursday nights are karaoke nights, so be ready to join in the fun!

I have only had take out, but their wings and potato skins are delicious!!! I got the wings with hot sauce and bbq sauce mixed together and that was the ticket! The staff is always so nice.

After moving to leland 8 months ago my boyfriend and I have been wanting to try halftime, finally on our way to Walmart we decided to call and make a Togo order, we wanted something to share and wanted to try the Philly cheesesteak , but I'm so picky and don't like onions or peppers and when we called to see if we could have only half of it with onions and peppers they said it was perfectly fine, the lady on the phone was super nice and the cheesesteak was DELICIOUS, my boyfriend said it was one of the best he's had anywhere in Wilmington. We will definitely be back to dine in and try some other items!
