The owner really knows his coffee, and it's always great listening to him describe the different tastes each of his coffees have. You can buy the beans, or have him ground them up after purchase, he has a set of coffees he'll brew for the day that he changes flavors on every day or he can brew you a specific type. If you're local he has $12 thermoses that comes with a one time free refill, them it's $0.85 each visit, which includes his iced coffees too so it's worth the purchase if you start going there frequently. There is also a few baked goods his wife makes, the bagels are like really soft biscuits and are great after reheating them up for a few seconds in the microwave he has available next to his coffees of the day. We both love the turnovers they have there. He has seating both in the front and the back of his shop, we like sitting in the back outside for a while before coming back inside and sitting in the back were there is household furnishings for that homey comfort feel. They have several books and a few magazines for you to read, or you can play on one of the many classic board games they have available like chess, Chinese checkers and even tick tack toe. We always enjoy taking a bit of time there instead of rushing back out the doors.
Very interesting shop with espresso and brewed options and pastries made on the website. Friendly and knowledgeable employees liked to help with the selection of beans home. There were various seats with tables, couches, Schachsets and books. A great place to hang out or learn during the weekdays, but has very short hours on weekends. Update: The wi fi has a running problem. Do not come in expecting to do any kind of internet work while it is.
Everything about this place is great. You can read a book, play chess or checker. We have different coffees and a white chocolate hot cocoa and they were all great. We will definitely go back here.
Great coffee and pastries. The apricot ginger was the best I ever had! Super friendly staff! I could have spent days there!!
Honestly, best coffee I ever had. I explored coffee houses in Portland, Oregon and every city in North Carolina. Never in all these places had I weighed a brew as well as I did here. The eclectic rooms, beautiful chessboards, local folk art and plethora books only complement the value of this small store on Main Street.
