Le Choucas - Les Gets

Good food. Tasty and didn't have to wait too long. Ribs were delicious and pizzas authentic. Service okay. I can eat late here.

We come here every year we visit Les Gets and standard of food and service was as good as never. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, I have only ever written reviews for exceptionally good experiences, however this really was poor. The adult food was neither particularly good nor bad, nothing to bother writing a review about, however the children...meals were really appalling. We paid 9.50 euros per child to get the smallest portion of spaghetti bolognese I have ever seen (it was barely one spoonful, enough perhaps for a 2 year old child but no older). The worst was the jambon pasta, which turned out literally to be a portion of plain pasta with two slices of cold ham slapped on the side of the plate. No sauce, no cheese, the ham not even cut up, not a vegetable in sight. I should have taken a photo as I still cant quite believe it. I would have been embarrassed to serve it to the table, perhaps thats why the waitress was so elusive and the service so slow. It was a really disappointing first night in Les Gets, but thankfully we went on to find lots of other lovely places to eat close by.

We enjoyed a couple of lovely meals here during half-term week. The men enjoyed the pizzas and I had some fantastic perche, better than in more upmarket establishments. Very friendly ambiance and staff. I have tricky dietary requirements and the kitchen was more than happy...to accommodate me and tweak recipes with no notice. Can't expect more!

My wife and I ate a knight's honey sauce. It was excellent and well served with various vegetables and the basket of fries. it is difficult to find a restaurant that offers other fish than trout or salmon. in the area we fish the omble and the fera (in the leman) so why not offer them more often on the map. with cabbage, in addition, the kitchen is good and the waitress always has a smile. We almost did not go because the site ( trip advisor) reports that this restaurant is closed on Tuesday. That's not true! It is open every day in season. so don't hesitate to go to enjoy yourself.
