La fringale - Les Salles-sur-Verdon

Especially good food! Many good options in the menu. The staff is really nice and always helps you with a smile. I come here every year and will continue!

At the end of our tour through the south side of Gorges du Verdon we stopped here for lunch. Ordered burgers that seemed to be the main thing on the menu. I had the boss big and very nice while my partner had a chicken castle. Service personnel were not so interested.

We stopped at this restaurant to have a good meal before a 9 hour drive. The waitress who served us was strangely passive aggressive for customers asking for tables. She pushed a little girl waiting in front of the toilet room because she was in her way... We ordered our food: frits were cold, burgers tasted bad and there was no spices. I asked a waitress on the check and she said she'd bring him. I waited for a while, then I went to the counter to say that I had to pay and go because I had a long ride. Here's when hell is going. The waitress who served us began to tell me that I should wait because I am on vacation and that she is busy. I answered that I just wanted to pay and go, and she started screaming to close in French, which I don't understand, because I don't speak it, but my wife who is French does. A man came from the back of the restaurant. I asked if he could help me pay my check, but instead he told me bluntly, "Shut your f ing mouth" and said I'll call the police on you. Also he said go back to your f ing land while he pretended to hit me when I don't stop talking. So we ignored him and talked to the waitress and she finally got to pay my card after she threatened to pick up the owner of the restaurant to hurry when ALL WE WANTED TO DO WAS PAY AND LEAVE. Once I paid, she got a BUNCH from STRAWS, and she reminded me of my lady and blessed me in FRENCH. I warn anyone who wants to go that you would face rude and racist waitress who would rather put up a fight instead of allowing you to pay for your food, and bad food.

Very relaxing and easy going place to sit in the sun and just enjoy the surroundings. We both had moules and frites which came out within 10 minutes and were very tasty and fresh. A couple of glasses of cheap plonk and we were very...happy. The service was easy going and again relaxed. Cheap and decent value for money.

This is obviously only a further assessment of the very rude and aggressive waitress. It would almost be funny if it wasn't just sad. My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant on August 7th. First, the waitress who sat us was passively aggressive. With everyone. She pushed a little girl waiting for the bathroom aside and told her she was in her way... When we finished our mediocre meal, we asked another waitress for the check, as the other one was not there. She told us she would bring it. After a little while and without sight I went to the bar and asked our waitress at the check. She told me she couldn't pay us now that she was really busy and going back to my table to wait for her to bring it. She was still rude, but I decided to go back to my table because I am too nice and I worked as a waitress and everyone can have a bad day. We had a 9-hour drive ahead so that my husband didn't want to wait any longer and went to the bar for a few minutes to ask for the check again. I was still sitting at the table, but I heard that she told my husband in English what she had told me before, but in a more aggressive way. I am the kind of person who prefers to avoid conflicts, so I got up and told her in French that we have it, but she didn't need to be rude. She answered that she was busy and we had to be patient since we were on vacation. My husband is not French, nor does he speak the language. He was very excited at this point about her attitude towards us and looked like that. He asked her again in English if we could only pay the check because we had to go, and she started screeming at him. She told him to shut up, and my husband insisted that we just wanted to pay and go. That's when it got ridiculous. She threatened to get the owner and throw us out as ALL WANTED WAS PAY AND LEAVE. Then a guy came out of the kitchen. My husband asked him in English if he could just help us so we could be on the way. This man, instead of asking what's going on, told my husband to shut up. Next I knew that both of them were screaming at my husband, especially in French, and the guy threatened to hit my husband and call the police. The waitress finally let us pay and threw a glass of straws to my husband after she was screamed at him and said he wanted to break everything. I also forgot to mention the racist sluts that cried to my husband in a language that he does not even speak. I wish I was the one who threatened to call the police. This is unacceptable to anyone who works in hospitality. We were insulted and threatened because we want to pay our cheque! Word of advice, just skip this place if you really want to enjoy your night out. They give a very bad picture of our country and our culture. I'm impressed for the rest of us French people who are decent people.
