Thought we would go to Swiss Chalet to check out their Thanksgiving dinner tonight.
This particular store could take lessons from their store in Regina Use vegetable gravey on poutine and poultry gravey on poultry.
When I visited this Swiss Chalet I really didn't feel like the magnificent rotisserie chicken I usually enjoy, so I opted for the Pesto Pasta. This wasn't just a bad decision, it was a horrible one. The Pesto Pasta was the single most limp, disgusting, absurdly overcooked pasta dish I have had in my entire life. I couldn't even get through half of it as it was nothing more than a $16 bowl of slime.To call the pasta mush is to do a disservice to mush. When did the staff start boiling this pasta, the night before? Even if you try to ignore that cruddy flour paste masquerading as pasta, the pesto sauce was thin, ocean-water salty, and it was obvious that the basil had been canned years before.How can an operation like Cara actually allow their outlets to serve this dreck? Take this nightmare excuse for Pesto Pasta off the menu before the reputation of your entire corporation is damaged!
We walked into the restaurant and it did not appear overly busy. We have been here before and everything was great but this time was a shock. We were greeted with if you want white meat chicken it will be a 20 minute to half an hour wait. If you came to try our new chicken dish it will be thirty minutes or more. It set such a negative tone the way it was put across we just left. This is the second evening this type of thing has happened so i think we will just look at coming for lunches if at all.
