They have a pretty good sized restaurant and usually it would be a bit crowdy there as this is the only restaurant nearby. They have plenty of options to look for at their menu. We had ordered chicken chibatta with chips and bowl of peri peri sweet potato fries. I would do recommend thier cakes are wonderful. Do go for their brewed coffee with a wonderful view.
The Glenveagh tearoom, a beloved local establishment, has been known for its exceptional food and service for almost three decades. However, in my recent visits with friends, I was disappointed to find that it has drastically declined in quality, serving mass-produced food and struggling staff. I used to take pride in bringing visitors to this tearoom and enjoying the hospitality myself, but sadly, I will now opt for picnics instead.
I visited the tearoom with a friend and we ordered the sausage rolls. I believe they were probably the best I have ever had. The service was very efficient and the staff was friendly.
Yum! is the first thing that comes into my head when I think about the delicious cake and scones I had at the Glenveagh Castle Tearooms. I finally get to make my trip back to Ireland to see my family and took a wander up to the lovely town of Letterkenny wished I could stay longer) was advised by some nice people in town that the Tearooms were worth the stop and they were right. The service was a little slow but this is a world wide problem and the manager and staff were incredibly apologetic .. I didn’t care as long as the tea was coming and they didn’t run out of cake. Great place and cannot wait to get back.
A pleasant surprise and a pleasant time. Will be back when time- and pandemic allows it. Take care and stay healthy. Cheers!
