After telling her we couldn't hear her she spoke up in a rude tone and started to talk about us to the other waitress. The soup smelt like wet dog and was also very salty and the waitresses never came to pick them up. The rice was also dry and did not have that much flavor and was also very hard. While we were eating a woman and the table beside us was trying to explain to the waitress a simple request for her elderly parents and the waitress could not understand, after numerous times of the woman explaining it to her. The waitresses also never came to give us refills until about 20 minutes after we were served, they also never checked on us. So if you want GOOD service and good food I recommend in going to the Ohana's in Lubbock.
When the chef arrived for his presentation, it lacked the usual engagement and theatrics we expect, such as the onion volcano; he seemed more focused on quickly completing his tasks. The food itself was decent but again slightly salty. Throughout the meal, there was a lack of attention from the staff; no one checked in on us, offered refills, or asked if everything was satisfactory. When it came time to settle the bill, we had to flag down a hostess for assistance. A mandatory 20% tip was added due to the size of our party. After paying, we waited quite a while for someone to bring us takeout boxes, but no one came by. Eventually, my husband had to get up and approach some employees who were eating their lunch to request a to-go container. They were all preoccupied, with several staff members at the back just pointing us to a stack of containers. At this point, it seemed like most of the staff had forgotten there were customers in the restaurant. We had to go over again to ask for drinks to go, and one of the hostesses visibly showed her frustration by slamming her chopsticks on the table when asked for assistance, which was quite concerning. We used to really enjoy dining here, but after this experience, I doubt we will return. It saddens me because we have been loyal customers for over a decade. What has happened? O'Hana, if you're not interested in serving customers, perhaps you should consider becoming a drive-thru? We spent $160 for inadequate service and mediocre food. You're a hibachi grill; people come for the show! If you want to enjoy your meals without interruptions, perhaps the front dining room isn’t the right spot. Please ensure that your staff is adequately trained and available to assist customers in the dining room. Just my two cents!
You receive smaller portions for the price you pay, and the prices have increased significantly.
The food is excellent, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. It's disappointing to enjoy such great dishes only to encounter rude and unfriendly staff.
The food was good, but not outstanding. The portions were smaller than what I've experienced at other Japanese steakhouses. The flavors were great, but the soup was lukewarm. The chef didn't really provide much of a performance, and the two waitresses seemed disinterested in being there. They barely spoke, handed me the check without offering dessert, and automatically added an 18% gratuity. That’s fine, but I would have tipped 20% if there had been even a small effort made by the staff. Overall, it was a rather uninviting experience for a restaurant that prides itself on entertainment.
