Our first time at The Livery Tavern was not the magical experience that we had heard so much about. The food was good, but the experience just fell short of other local establishments. The 50 ribeye was significantly overcooked and was of the same quality as I make at home. The Charcuterie Board had nothing exciting on it, and the grits tasted instant. We will give it a try again, but for the price tag we may have to consider somewhere else in Lewisburg. Also of note, the wide open dining experience led to such a loud atmosphere that we could barely hear each other talk, and stepping back outside into the quiet street was a relief.
It should be illegal to charge this much for such bad food. $30 for 5 dry unseasoned little beef tips on a plate of egg noodles?? You have got to be kidding me. My husband was starving just 2 hours later because of how unsatisfying his beef stroganoff was. I wish I could say his meal was just a fluke, but my tuna steak wasn 't much better. It came out cold and dry with three tiny slices of tuna, hardly a steak. The flavor was okay, but could have been so much better. I wish the cocktails were the redeeming factor, but I could mix up a better martini at home (without having to pay $16). Even the service was mediocre at best. Friendly waitress, but a little more attentiveness would have been appreciated. Thanks for ruining my birthday dinner, The Livery Tavern. We had such high hopes for you, but your menu was so small and way too overpriced. Don 't fall for the flashy exterior and upscale feel!! This place will rob you. We should have left after seeing the nearly empty dining room, but we wanted to give it a chance. Big mistake!!!
They do a good job of switching out the menu for the different seasons, give you a reason to keep going to a place no matter how many times you've been. The food is a amazing but we stop the most frequently for drinks, great list with a great head bartender that really cares about what they craft. Smoked old fashion is my favorite
Almost everything was very good. Shrimp appetizer was great, as were the green beans and my wife?s beef stroganoff. Unfortunately the $44 filet was significantly overcooked, which is the main thing I will remember.
