Shepherd Neame The Crown - Lewisham

We visited the pub during the first cold snap of autumn and unfortunately, it was absolutely freezing inside. We couldn't even take off our outer clothing. The drinks and service were excellent, but the food was disappointing. The sausage sandwich was served on white bread with margarine instead of mustard, and it was barely edible. However, the chips were surprisingly delicious despite being cooked from frozen. On a brighter note, the pub is in a great location in Blackheath and has a fantastic outdoor seating area that would be perfect for summer.

The fish batter was undercooked and the burger was overcooked at this restaurant. Although the waitress apologized and spoke to her manager, we never received any further investigation. We were given a refund. The restroom only had 2 cubicles, which was inconvenient. One of my friends got sick after eating here. Overall, good for drinks but not for food.

We waited 45 minutes for a sandwich, only to be told that a large party of 8 had just placed their order and it might take a while. However, the food was mediocre and overpriced. Overall, the restaurant's ratings reflect its below average quality.

The Crown!!! A Pub I really learned to know real People!!! Do you know Why!!! I visited 2day ,Saw Keith and Faical... Great Guys...You be been Running the Crown Montpelier Vale as Loyals and Gr8!!!! I am from the Hare Billet up the Heath..we always enjoyed the Village Feelings.. Keep up the Good Work.Thanks

This was our first time earing here, family of 6 and sadly we will not be returning. We waited 1hr 25 mins for our food. We did get 3 free cokes, a wine and an apple juice free for the wait being so long and also to be fair it was really busy due to race for life and beautiful weather. The food though was not food. We ordered two kids cheeseburger meals, each only with half a hamburger and a sprinkle of cheese. How can you only put in half a hamburger? The fishfinger sandwich contained two fishfingers and at £10, this is a bit of a joke. The kid’s macaroni cheese was dry and bland. Im not sure if we were served these dishes on purpose because we complained about the length of time but thats a shame becausethe actual pub is nice and cool with lots of space. Given the quality and portion size of the food though we will never return.
