It was around 1 am when I decided to get a fast food takeaway to treat myself and my partner after working 5 days in a row. There is always somewhere open in London, even around 3am. so i looked on just eat and found this place. I decided to call them directly so that they would profit from the order and not have to give just eat commission. I called directly and asked them if they could make my choices into some kind of bundle deal and he ... basically didn 't lol. anyway so I ordered and it arrived literally 15 mins later... which is the fastest I 've ever received an order and knew from the start It will have been rushed. Firstly the driver asked for £15.00. The meal was not £15.00 it was £14.46. If he would have said the correct amount without adding on his own tip I would have told him to keep the change anyway or better yet maybe had given him a real tip. I took the food and drink into the dinning room and got everything unpacked. The Ribs were not fully covered and I am not even joking they were the worst lamb ribs I have ever had, they were warm and tasteless and were not very pleasant to eat. The Burger was lazy with a effortless splodge of mayonnaise put on one side. at least that was cooked properly and edible. The garlic bread was the most pathetic thing I 've ever seen. The baguette was not cut properly, 3 small bits and 1 tiny piece. I try not to eat the skin when I eat fried chicken as the crispy breading and meat is the best bit for me, when removing the batter to reveal the skin I found the most disgusting long curly white hair coming from the skin, made me want to throw up knowing I 'd just eaten a couple prior to finding this. Surprisingly the chips were amazing, which is strange as its normally the thing most takeaways get wrong. Funny how the best part was the chips and everything else was pretty much a rushed joke. As disappointed I was I decided to sleep on it and call them back the next day. I asked for the manager and I was told he was not here till later and I was asked what the problem was. I was very polite and honest with the experience and said that I would really just like to be given a complimentary .. anything as a gesture of goodwill and acceptance that they had not done well with this order. I was told my comments would be passed onto the manager . another 24 hours went by and no call back. I called them back and actually caught the manager and I told him the same thing as I told the last person. He said what do you expect me to do, its Friday night and I have two delivery drivers and over 20 orders and you want me to send you something free? Even though this is ridiculous because I am the dissatisfied consumer and he is putting it as If I was something free. When what they are not getting is that I had a genuinely bad meal and they are to blame. Anyway, I agreed to call back on a less busy day, so I called back on a Monday night at 11:30 and the manager said they have just taken their last orders, another stupid excuse, then I called back a night or two later nearly a week after I 've brought up this issue with them and I actually managed to call back at a reasonable time a time convenient to them and because the manager was not there the guy on the phone said there was nothing he could do. I told him too call his manager then. He claimed not to have his colleagues phone number... So it turns out they are a bunch of lying fools who do not have a single clue how to give an inch of customer service. Even if they gave me something complimentary I would not accept now as they would likely spit in the food or something with the kind of mentality and work ethic they are displaying. The entire time I was nice with them, I was patient and calm. and gave them many opportunity to rectify the terrible rushed order I received, Instead I got excuses, was made to chase and run around in a circle to get somewhere with my complaint and all in all the whole thing was just one of the worst experiences I have had in London with a takeaway. If your reading this Top Hut Hither Green. Don 't accept an order if your don 't going to do it properly. The night I ordered there were plenty of other places open that would have taken my order and carried it out to at least an average standard. your driver was rude. some of your food was actually sickening and your customer service is appalling. Its even more so annoying that you give them a chance to rectify it and they do what they done at this establishment. If they would just sent us a pizza on the house or something I would have just taken a nice picture of that and posted a review saying got an order, it was bad, called them to rectify it, and look what we got! amazing! Instead they done the above. If your reading this, never go here, simple as that.
The way i was treated by the owner over the telephone after complaining about the order was absolutely disgusting will never be ordering from here again and would advise anyone who is thinking to, DON'T! There was a staple found in one of the burger boxes, a normal quarter pounder with cheese was then smothered in mayonnaise which wasn't asked for nor expected as it's a beef burger... there was no info on hungry house website to tell you what dressing comes with the burgers although they claim there is. When I spoke to them over the phone there was no apology just excuses for their mistakes.they weren't prepared to correct the mistake, claiming the driver was too far away to come back and collect it.. but they were close enough to deliver it the first time. This complaint has now been escalated with hungry house and have every intention of getting a full refund of the purchase made. There is nothing convenient about this take-away service.
Order from here often, can't complain really, it's cheap tastes ok and it's always hot, normally does the job week before payday
