I have lived one because here and finally got a chance to try and was not disappointed. the only thing I would recommend is to try to look at a menu before they come there, everything is so tempting that it is hard to deepen their minds before location. they get a lot of food and will not be starving! definitely a place to try if they are looking for something new to try or go through in the opposite!
The food here is tasty but pricey. For the price, I would expect a clean facility and clean employees. They should either lower their prices to match the dirty grungy look of the place or spend a day deep cleaning the place and a fresh coat of paint to match the prices. When we were there, the staff members were really dirty and messy.
Visited for the first time on Sunday morning. The biscuits are amazing. They are big and fluffy and everything you want a biscuit to be. The food overall was very savory so you have to be prepared for that. I recommend bringing your own coffee if you want coffee. Theirs was full of grounds and not good. I was super concerned about the cleanliness of the place. The table was super sticky and the air return looked like it hasn't been cleaned in years.
I'm a foodie and I love trying new things. I read a lot of good reviews for this place especially the shrimp in grits. Me and grandson and friend went to visit them last Sunday. I'm going to have to say that reading is such an important skill. Most of the meals come with a gravy on top of it. So I ordered the shrimp and grits and it had white gravy (like for biscuit and gravy) on top of it. The spinach scramble had gravy, everything had the gravy and the gravy is not flavorful at all. It stopped us from finishing the food. So honestly I don't know what the food taste like because none of us finished our meals based on The gravy. One more thing we all had stomach issues after trying to eat the food.
Walked down from my hotel while visiting Lexington. Low key place, friendly staff happy to recommend options to new customers. I ordered the Nashville hot biscuit, I love Nashville hot style chicken so a no brainer. Biscuit was classic southern buttermilk scratch style biscuit like my mother would have made. Came with an egg on the piece of chicken. Some various pickled jalapeños in the container and extra hot sauce floating around the bottom. Interesting take on Nashville hot, never had it with hardly any breading on the fried chicken breast. It was more like a light breaded and baked piece of chicken. It was also a thicker cut of chicken, a little dry, a little tough, but a good spicy flavor with something like Pete's hot sauce on it. My only complaint, there was no sweet. Nashville hot should have a little honey or maybe some brown sugar in the batter of the chicken. Without the honey/sugar hint of sweet to cut the vinegar of the hot sauce it can be a little overwhelming. I'd go back, but next time ask for a little honey to drizzle over the chicken.
