Panera Bread - Lexington

This restaurant is awful. They took an incredibly long time to take my order and then delayed us even further during the process. To make matters worse, they ran out of eggs, which is surprising for a breakfast spot that serves items like egg sandwiches. The service was just as disappointing, and it seemed like they didn’t care at all. Panera has got to do better with their restaurant.

They were here and had no bread for a special sandwich that is new, no mozzarella cheese for pizza, no gouda cheese, autumn cheese soup, broccoli and cheddar soup or chicken soup, did not bring us our chips and also picked us up for the replaced cheese they had not! The Pepsi was clear and obviously needed to be replaced.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I went through the drive-thru to order chicken and wild rice soup. The employee seemed to have minimal knowledge about the menu, specifically the bread dishes. After waiting 15 minutes, I arrived at the window but was not greeted; instead, the clerk just repeated my order. Once my card was returned, I was asked to pull forward to wait for my food. I ended up sitting there for 20 minutes, only to see a car that had just arrived receive their order before me. While the food was good, I don’t think it was worth the long wait and poor service—I'm unlikely to return.

Finally, a young woman came over to help me finish the order. I double-checked everything, and of course, it was incorrect! The girl who had initially helped me then disappeared, and when I pointed out that my French onion soup was missing, she looked at me as if she didn’t understand. I had to read her my order before she nodded and handed me a cup of soup before walking off again. I was so disappointed by the lack of service. It felt like no one was actually working there. I definitely won’t be coming back!

Had a nice lunch with my granddaughter. She had never been, had the chicken BLT. I chose the tuna, always good. Also had frozen strawberry lemonades, which were almost dessert. Store was clean, staff friendly.
