Feedback gevenA true 'local 's spot ' by definition. Small bar with limited seating. Service was very pleasant and extremely attentive. Good pours on cocktails. The chalk dinner menu cannot be beat! My wife enjoyed a bourbon salmon and I devoured some BBQ beef brisket. A ton of sides to choose from and all the ones we selected were delicious. This is a great value with terrific food!
A true greasy spoon I have been wanting to stop by for some time, and was glad that I finally did. No frills here, but a simple menu done right. I ordered the 'Smitty Melt ' hamburger, Swiss cheese, and grilled onions on wheat bread. My father ordered the same, and we split a huge order of onion rings, which were also tasty. The owners/staff are very friendly and make you feel welcomed right away. My only criticism some renovations, or at the very least, some deep cleaning would go a long way.
'ORANGE ' SAYS YOU ALL HAVE GOOD FOOD!. After reading a few reviews, I decided to try Thoroughbred 's. I agree that it is nothing to write home about from the outside and the interior is dated, but the food is the diamond in the rough.<br/ <br/ My first visit was on a Friday (fried chicken day) and I ordered the fried chicken because I don 't get to eat it much. I 'd say it is the best besides my Mother 's. The breast is huge and the breading is spiced excellently. The griddle cakes are pretty dang good.<br/ <br/ The ladies give me a hard time because every time I 've eaten lunch I 've had UT orange on...but it 's all in fun (at least I hope). Regardless, the meat and two for around $7.00 is great deal!
Certainly can see Hattie's touch here.. All you have to do is eat the deep fried corn cakes! Overall pretty good though grilled chicken over noodles is a little odd. Fried perch was good as was the cole slaw. Mashed potatoes were a little bitter. <br/ <br/ Give this place a try. Looks a lot better on the inside than you think it will. This could become a hole-in-the-wall favorite!
Ribs, Hot Brown, Pittsburgh Pete Ribeye. The steak is so tender and perfectly spiced that you will not eat another one anywhere else. Th ribs sit in the smoker all day w/homemade BBQ sauces. The Hot Brown is an original from the original one...Go to Thoroughbreds to hear the story!<br/ <br/ <br/ 30 Jun, 2013 <br/ <br/ Food Neighborhood Atmosphere. I have missed Mark 's cooking. His kitchen creations have always been delicious! Saturday 's menu is flavorful, tender and oh so good!! I have missed his 'chunky ' toasted bred slices. His off the menu steak sandwich was still mouth watering. I shall return!!
